Ensuring
climate-displaced persons experience
safe, dignified, and just mobility within and to Canada

As rising temperatures continue to change human and natural systems, increasing numbers of people around the world are already, or are at risk of, being displaced.

The Climate Displacement Planning Initiative (CDPI) aims to raise awareness and share information on the challenge of displacement, and to seek out solutions that will help the people most at risk from climate change live safe, dignified, and prosperous lives. By recognizing that urban areas will receive many people displaced by climate change, we aim to mobilize cities and urban leaders in particular to explore how we can integrate these emerging environmental, social, and economic challenges into future urban resilience planning and practice.
