PARTICIPATING AS A
YOUTH DELEGATE

Climate Migrants and Refugees Project Co-Founder George Benson participated in the summit as part of the Global Shapers Community. A select group of youth from around the world were invited to participate in the summit based on their leadership across sectors and issues; George was noted and selected for his climate displacement work with the Project.

CIVIL SOCIETY RAISES CLIMATE CHANGE DISPLACEMENT

Civil society actors from around the world continued to raise the alarm regarding climate change displacement. Organizations such as Oxfam hosted events to raise the issue further, while local activists inside and outside of the summit raised front-line displacement of Indigenous peoples and communities of colour who are already on the front-lines of climate change’s impacts.
